The Texas Tech University STC Student Chapter is an affiliate of the Society for Technical Communication. The chapter was founded in 1985 and serves students in the Technical Communication programs at Texas Tech University. The chapter provides an avenue for students and scholars to network academically and professionally. The purposes of the chapter are to promote an interest in technical communication and to encourage the professional development of our members. The Society for Technical Communication is the largest professional society in the world dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of technical communication. Its 22,000 members include technical writers, editors, graphic designers, videographers, multimedia artists, web and intranet page information designers, translators, and others whose work involves making technical information available to those who need it.
